Progression Application – Next Level of Study
1. What is Progression Application?
Progression applications is when a student progress to higher level of studies upon completion of the current studies. The progression is considered a new application. The process duration for new application is within 90 days to be completed upon submission of your new application to EMGS.
2. What should I do?
Student pass is not transferable. You need to apply a new application to get a new student pass. The current student pass needs to be cancelled and shortened at the State Immigration Department that issued your current pass.
3. Do I need to exit the Malaysia during the process?
It depends on the type of the pass you are holding at the time of application, as well as the type of institution you are transferring to or from.
Upon submission to EMGS, if the current student pass valid within 90 days and the new student pass can be issued during this period, the student does not need to leave Malaysia. However, should your current pass nearing expiry and the process has yet to be completed, the student MUST leave the country to avoid being overstay.
4. Who should I liaise with?
Kindly log a case through UCS Portal under REG - International Student Management.
5. I am a UTP Student and I need to progress from Foundation to Bachelor. What are the required documents to be submitted to ISVO?
Please notify ISVO at isvo@utp.edu.my and provide the documents below:
- Passport photo - photo requirements
- Proof of online payment to EMGS
- Proof of online payment to Finance UTP
- Copy of Bachelor Offer Letter
- Completion Letter & Certificate of Foundation Request from Registration & Examination (REX). Refer link: UTP Application Forms - Result
- Academic Transcript/Result of Foundation Request from Registration & Examination (REX). Refer link: UTP Application Forms - Result
- Copy of passport in color - A copy of each page of the Passport from cover to cover. The passport must be valid at least 18 months.
- Health Declaration Form
