1. What is the first class range at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS?
The Class of Honours classification for graduating class 2023 as per below table:

| Second Class Upper | 3.00 – 3.64 |
| Second Class Lower | 2.50 – 2.99 |
| Third Class | 2.00 – 2.49 |
2. I have completed my studies and have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with First Class. Am I eligible to apply for PTPTN Loan Repayment Exemption?
For the time being, PTPTN still has this type of scheme and is eligible for the graduates who have obtained a First Class. However, it is subject to PTPTN approval.
3. How do I apply for PTPTN Loan Repayment Exemption?
You may apply online via PTPTN Website - https://myptptn.ptptn.gov.my/
4. When is the deadline to apply?
You have to apply within 12 months from the convocation date.
5. What are types of documents required by PTPTN?
1. Copy of Academic Transcript / Salinan Transkrip
2. Copy of Bachelor’s Degree Certificate / Salinan Skrol Ijazah Sarjana Muda
3. Completion Letter / Surat Pengesahan Tamat Pengajian Ijazah Sarjana Muda
4. Copy of Certificate of Accreditation / Salinan Sijil Perakuan Akreditasi
6. Is there any First-Class Confirmation Letter will be given?
For UTP graduates, the First-Class Confirmation Letter is not necessary. According to PTPTN, the letter is only required if the word “First class” is not written in the Bachelor’s Degree. For UTP graduates, the First-Class Confirmation Letter is not necessary since the degree scroll already indicates “First Class”. You may upload certified degree scroll under the first-class confirmation letter section.
7. How can I get copy of Certificate of Accreditation from MQA?
You may request for Certificate of Accreditation from MQA by fill up the Request Form here. Kindly note that the softcopy of documents will be emailed to you once we have received a completed request form. You may contact Mr. Wan Imran (wimran_wyusoff@utp.edu.my) for further assistance on this matter.
8. There is a required fill column in PTPTN website which is my senate date and completion date. May I know which exact date should I fill into this column?
Kindly refer to your completion letter for the following dates:
- Senate Date / Tarikh Senat
- Completion Date / Tarikh Tamat Pengajian
9. May I know the convocation date to be filled in for PTPTN exemption?
Kindly refer to the date at the bottom of your degree certificate for convocation date.
