1. What is late registration appeal?
Late registration appeal is an appeal for those who missed add/drop period and would like to register in that particular semester. Late registration appeal is subject to approval from the Registrar, no outstanding dues and RM 100 late registration penalty.

2. How to appeal for late registration?

Students must write an appeal letter addressing Registrar and submit the appeal letter to Mr Fahmi through an email (mfahmi.sn@utp.edu.my) within late registration period.
 
3. What if I failed to register in that particular semester?
Students who failed to register after week 5 without prior notice and sound justification will be given dismissal status with immediate effect.

4. After dismissed due to failed to register, can I appeal for reinstatement of study?

Yes, you can appeal. Further details on the appeal process kindly liaise with Mr Fahmi (mfahmi.sn@utp.edu.my).

5. I want to take a break from my study (financial, medical, work commitment, personal issue) with whom I should liaise with?
Kindly log a case through UCS portal under subject CGS - Deferment.

6. I want to change my mode of study, with whom I should liaise with?
Kindly log a case through UCS portal under CGS - Study Mode Change.

7. How can I change my programme of studies?

8. If I plan to go for VIVA in this semester, should I register?
Yes, you must register. Kindly register BAPC through UCampus. As for VIVA VOCE, registration will be done by Registration and Examination Department (RE)X upon confirmation on the VIVA date by respective academic department.

9. I am GA/GRA/TFA student and I was blocked from semester registration due to outstanding dues. How I can resolve this issue?

Kindly log a case through UCS portal under subject CGS - GA/GRA.

10. Am I allowed to register if I have outstanding dues?
No. All students must have zero outstanding in order to register in every semester. Further details on the outstanding dues kindly log a report in UCS portal under subject Finance.

11. I have financial constraint and want to delay my semester registration. Am I allow to do that?
No. Students are not allowed to delay their semester registration. All students are given 4 weeks to register and additional 2 weeks for late registration appeal. Students must register within this timeline.

12. I am postgraduate student July 2020 intake. I haven’t completed my RPD in my first semester, what are the courses I need to register in my 2nd Semester?
You need to register RPD only. After passing RPD in the 2nd semester, you will start register for BAPC in the 3rd semester onwards. (Applicable for Jan 2020 Semester intake onwards)

13. Can I postpone my Research Methodology module?
No. For Jan 2020 intake onwards, Research Methodology need to be taken in the first semester. Research Methodology is the pre-requisite for RPD and BAPC.

14. I am Jan 2020 intake student. My senior told me that, I need to pair RPD with BAPC in one semester. Is this true?
No. For Jan 2020 intake onwards RPD must be taken in the first semester together with Research Methodology. If the students fail to complete RPD in his/her 1st semester he/she must re-register RPD ONLY in the 2nd semester.

15. My study is currently sponsored under grant. However I was blocked from online registration due to outstanding dues. What should I do?

Please liaise with your grant provider and kindly log a case through UCS Portal and select Finance as the subject for further assistance.

16. Due to unforeseen circumstance I want to withdraw my study from UTP, could you guide me how?

17. I want to know more on Research Methodology class schedule and assessment, who should I contact?

19. I don’t know what are the modules that I need to register in this semester, where should I refer to?
You may contact your respective Academic Executive department, or Mr Fahmi (mfahmi.sn@utp.edu.my).
